How can I help?

When things feel tough, working with someone who you feel 'gets it' and knowing the space is safe and free from judgement is really important.

Perhaps you are;

- experiencing strong reactions that seem out of proportion to the current situation

- no longer feeling able to do certain things or go to certain places

- being bothered by intrusive, unpleasant thoughts or images

- noticing strong feelings of guilt or shame or a lot of self-critical thoughts

- having recurrent nightmares or trouble sleeping

- feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope

- not feeling able to be the parent/ partner/ person you expect and want yourself to be, which may include feeling disconnected from others

I offer bespoke, trauma-informed therapy drawing on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and EMDR, informed by the latest developments in neuroscience and psychology. 

 

I support parents experiencing a range of difficulties including postnatal depression, anxiety and OCD, low self esteem, agoraphobia, difficulties with body image, perfectionism and trauma/ PTSD, including birth trauma, trauma from sexual violence and intergenerational trauma, trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), phobias and panic attacks. If you are unsure whether this fits, please get in touch for an initial chat so that we can talk it through. 

In our sessions we will work together to create a space where you feel safe enough to speak about what you have been experiencing. Together we can then draw on psychological theory and evidence-based therapies to help make sense of your experience and move you toward the changes that are important to you.
